How Online Shopping Works at whygoless.com: Inspect Before You Pay

Online second-hand shopping in Lebanon, minus the risk: inspect your order at delivery and refuse before paying. Here is exactly how it works.

Online shopping in Lebanon comes with a familiar knot in the stomach. You pay, you wait, the package arrives, and only then do you find out whether you got what the photos promised. If it disappoints, good luck. Most of the time the money is already gone.

We built the ordering process at whygoless.com to untie that knot. The short version: for everything except electronics, you inspect your order at delivery, in your hands, before a single dollar changes hands. If it is not what you expected, you hand it back. Here is the long version.

Step one: browse and order

Everything on whygoless.com is photographed and honestly described, including flaws. If a dress has a loose thread, the listing says so. If a top is flawless, it says that too. Every piece has been inspected, cleaned, and steamed before it was ever photographed, and prices are in USD.

Because this is second-hand, every item exists exactly once. When you order it, it is yours and nobody else can grab it. Start with dresses or tops, or go straight to new with tags if you want unworn pieces at pre-loved prices.

Step two: delivery, anywhere in Lebanon

We deliver across Lebanon, from Beirut to wherever you are. Delivery is paid by the customer, and the fee depends on your location. Prefer to skip the fee entirely? In-store pickup at our Dekwaneh store is always free, and it comes with a bonus: you get to browse the shelves while you are here. The full breakdown lives on our shipping and delivery page.

Step three: the part that matters. Inspect before you pay

This is the policy we are proudest of, so let's spell it out.

When your order arrives, open it. Look at the item. Check it against the description. Try the zipper, feel the fabric, hold it up to the light. Take your time; the courier can wait a minute.

  • Happy with it? Pay, and enjoy. Done.
  • Not what you expected? Refuse it, before paying, and hand it back to the courier. The only thing you are out is the delivery fee. The item price never leaves your pocket.

Think about what that means. The risk that normally sits entirely on you, the buyer, sits with us instead. If our photos flattered too much or our description missed something, we eat that mistake, not you. We can only afford to run this policy because our descriptions are honest in the first place. Refused orders are rare, and that is the system working.

One clarification: this inspect-and-refuse flow applies to non-electronics. Electronics have their own ritual, and it is arguably even better: every device is tested with you at pickup or delivery, and serious functional defects verified by our team within 1 day get an exchange or store credit valid for 6 months.

Step four: if you change your mind after paying

You inspected, you paid, you got home, and the dress is somehow not the same dress your mirror agreed to. It happens. You have 1 day to exchange it in-store for something else.

Now the fine print, delivered in plain language because that is how we operate:

  • Exchanges happen in-store, within 1 day of delivery.
  • There are no cash refunds. Ever. On anything. We would rather lose a sale than blur that line, because clear rules are what keep second-hand prices this low.
  • The full policy is written out on our return and exchange page, in words, not legalese.

Why we run it this way

Second-hand shopping online has a trust problem, and pretending otherwise would insult your intelligence. You cannot try the item on through a screen. So instead of asking you to trust us blindly, we structured the whole process so you barely have to trust us at all. Honest descriptions up front. Inspection in your hands before payment. A clear exchange window after. Every step gives you an exit.

That is what smart second-hand shopping should feel like: not a leap of faith, just a well-lit staircase.
