What to bring (and what to leave home)
Start with a simple filter: would you buy this today, at a fair price, in its current condition? If yes, it belongs in your selling pile.
Bring:
- Clothes you have not worn in the last 12 months, especially dresses, quality tops, and outerwear
- Pieces bought and never worn, ideally with original tags still attached; these are gold in resale
- Kids and baby wear that was outgrown before it was worn out
- Electronics in working condition
- Home accessories and sports equipment in good shape
Leave home:
- Anything stained, torn, or heavily worn; every item is inspected and honestly described, so flaws do not slip through
- Hygiene-sensitive items; we never accept these, no exceptions
- Items below $1 in value; the minimum keeps the process worthwhile for everyone
One preparation tip: do not bother washing and ironing everything to perfection. Bring items clean and presentable, but professional cleaning and steaming is part of our job, not yours.
How the quotation works
Every item you bring gets inspected on intake. For everything that passes, you receive a quotation: the realistic selling price for each piece, based on brand, condition, and what actually moves in the Lebanese second-hand market.
Two things to know about your quotation:
- It is valid for 7 days, so you have time to think it over
- You get one counter-offer if you believe a piece deserves more
If we agree, your items enter the pipeline: cleaned, steamed, photographed, tagged, listed on whygoless.com, and marketed through the store and @whygoless on Instagram. They go live in collection drops every 15 days. Pricing follows a transparent markdown ladder: full price for the first 30 days, up to 30% off after 30 days, up to 50% off after 60 days, and a return notice at 90 days if a piece has not sold. The split: flat 50/50
When your item sells, the price splits down the middle: 50% to you, 50% to us. That is the entire fee structure. No listing charges, no photography fees, no marketing surcharges. One number, agreed before anything goes on a rail.
Your payout options
Payouts begin from 3 days after the sale, always in USD. Pick whichever suits you:
- Cash pickup at the store: free, and you get to browse while you are here
- Whish or OMT transfer: your money sent to you, minus a 2% transfer fee
- Store credit: valid for 6 months, and the option smart sellers underrate
The store credit move
Here is a pattern we see weekly: someone consigns a bag of pieces that no longer fit their life, takes the payout as store credit, and rebuilds their wardrobe from our rails at second-hand prices. Their old closet literally pays for the new one.
It works because the selection turns over constantly. Browse the dresses collection or the new with tags collection and you will see retail-quality pieces at consignment prices. If you are clearing serious volume, pickup is free anywhere in Lebanon for batches above $400 in value, and free within 10 miles of Beirut for batches above $200. For smaller batches, we are in Dekwaneh, Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with Sundays by appointment.
